Two 680s vs One 780

I have one EVGA GTX 680 SC 2GB would you get a second card and SLi them are buy one 780 and just upgrade ?

i'd stick with the 680 for another year and then upgrade to an 880.

So you would stay with one card , i am looking to upgrade because of FPS problem because my monitor is 2560 x 1440 res

680 SLI would be faster but if you wait just a little longer 780Ghz edition cards will be released and be much faster than a stock 780 now, also 780ti is being released which would then be even better.

Also waiting a little longer might end having 290x prices to down which is faster than a 780 at any res(higher is more noticeable though) and should also serve a long time.

For now just turn off AA and FPS should rise quite a bit and annoy you less.

I'd say look for good deals on normal 780 now and when can grab one if you plan on gaming on 2560x1440p

Of course two 680's will preform better as long as you can cool them so its up to you.

ah sorry you didn't mention the resolution. yea, i'd sell the 680 and buy either a 780 or a 780ti, depending on the price. but i would definitely wait for the 780ti release because that might just make the 780 prices drop a little.

2 670s not even ocd at 1440 can run bf4 on ultra everything (easily if you can keep em cool) apart from aa but you dont need aa at that size anyway. so id get a 680 as they are cheap as chips now and you will own. if not. i would wait until the next generation of cards.

if you must upgade then get another 680 as its the the best option price wise but i'd wait personally.

If you do get another 680 remember that more power is required so make sure your PSU is up to it otherwise you'll run into problems.

I've pointed some people in the direction of the EVGA refurb section.

May sound scary, but this is EVGA, and they do guarantee them for a certain amount of time. Some stores even have a year rma on them.

However, I digress, there were a bunch of 580 refurbs going around - and logically I'd expect some 680s to come. It'll be a damn cheap price.

Way back I seen some 480 cards for under £100 - now if you had an existing 480, and knew what the hell you were doing, that's quite a performance increase. More or less the same as a single 680. ... for less than £100.
