Tv - ~32" - ~£500

My nephews and niece are moving into a house together in a few weeks, and I`m toying with letting them have my 28" widescreen.

So of course I`m gonna have a hole where it once stood...

• Widescreen
  
• lcd
  
• 28-32" (no stretched 24-26"s being forced to be this size tho)
  
• svhs, av, scart most important - vga/equiv. would be nice (preferably not on the front)
  
• toying with HD, cept Sky`s so crap HD as an extra subscription seems silly, but pc into it would probably convince me
  
• Stereo will be fine as I got a cinema setup anyway
  
• preferably black
  
• £400-£500, over that wouldn`t be worth it

I have a 26" one for sale. Had it for about 3ish months so basically as new if you are interested? Product specs here Its a nice picture and im running my media centre on, enough connections to shake a big angry stick at and it makes a cool diddly dee noise when u turn off or on. Worth it in itself!

Yeah, I was doing a Scan browse the other day, some nice looking ones in there around 32".

26" is a tad too small for me m8y, I`m looking for 28-32".

I personally wouldn't get a Hyundai. The SCAN TV looks damn good for the cash

Lol, im sure that we have that hyundai on our site somewhere, not like Kempz to make a recommendation for scan.. Sheesh one bad monitor......

With monitors you do get what you pay for, if you want that E320D ill be able to beat that price on tues

Hmm well SCAN don't seem to be offering their own TV as they were before, which got a load of good reviews. I wouldn't recommend Hyundai as I've had 1st-hand experience of their products and imo it's worth spending he extra and getting a trusted make such as Samsung, LG or Sony - especially with an investent like a 32" TV

Don't get something you'll be be staring at for such a long time that you think to yourself: "I should have paid that little bit more"

Me: I'd get a Samsung or a Sony

I think if I didn`t set myself a cash boundry, that one nathan`s post looks kewl too.

I`m glad theres such a good bunch of choices for the price range. Atleast I know where I stand now, I can chat with my nephew about vacating the TV space with all this in mind

EDIT: I think I get the point on spending the extra, I think it`ll be a case of weighing the odds up just before hitting the sale button.

Ok, time moves on, but the dilema still exists ala perhaps a little more pressure, I`ve probably got a few weeks.

Meh. If I was spending £750-£1000 on one, I`d want the armchair-in-store treatment maybe.

And incidently, if I bought that Samsung instore, it would cost somewhere in that bracket.

I`ve already come to terms that flat screens are stretched versions of our beautiful monitors, and each time I walk through a TV department I get less and less impressed.

There are some really nice 42" Sonys in work, but tbh u can triple the price I`m looking to pay to get one of that quality.

Mate take a look at the price disparity from buying one in-store and buying one from a reputable dealer off of the net - no way it's worth a £100 premium just to be able to see it

edit: myself i would recommend going for sammys they are one of the best if not the best LCD HDTV manufacturers. unlike others they make every part by themselves meaning excellent quality.
