So Im thinking about getting myself a little pressie for ma biffday!

Have my eyes on these two, Im currently running S530D Edifier 2.1's in white.

These ones Id probably get a sub for too and utilise the sub out, also handy they have a front mounted volume control (windows is normally just up on max and I use the desktop control pod)

These will probably be better quality but no sub, no volume control either....

Anyways Im after powered/active monitors and they have to be white!

My input here would be something I posted on the recently purchased thread. It would be a pair of SONOS Play:1's great sound quality nice app for mobile and pc, wireless. Terrific bass for such a small unit and even maxed out sound quality stay top notch.

Though pricy they are really worth it imo :)

dont worry im the same, hence why i got headphones for after normal hours lol :)
ill have a look and get back to ya, you defo want a sub or something to give more clarity?

I'd say Cambridge audio for subwoofers/anything audio. Honestly they make amazing stuff although I believe they don't do white ones :l.
Where would you have the woofer Tom?

The KRK's all the way, But I'm a little biased as they've got yellow cones, and I hate 2.1, or even any form of .1. If you wanted a sub, I'm sure KRK, do a powered one that you could plug straight into your sound card, that is if you want to pay about £600 for it.

.1 works if it's setup properly but speakers that use a stereo source for it rarely, if ever, do it properly.

I have some Bose 2.1's which are 'alright' but I still prefer the option to set my crossover frequency properly etc.

Nice, Isolation mounts are a must or your bass will effect your mouse if it is sensitive. I have a RAT9 and the mouse pointer moved about when listening to music or watching a film.

yep, mounts are needed, I've got the RAT7, and it bounces around like crazy. If I'm having a sod the neighbours day, I can't even control the cursor, sometimes having to use the snipe button.

I no this is an old post but i must say edifier do produce good quality speakers, I myself have purchase Spinnakers 2.0 and could not believe it.
