So Windows 8.1 preview is now available for testing for any of those who want to try it. I would not recommend putting this on your main machine unless it is running 8 already. (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/preview) Windows 8.1 brings some really cool features that I have been wanting in Win 8 and it runs much smoother.
Now I did say read this first only for the reason that Microsoft states if you install 8.1 preview on an 8 machine you cannot remove it without doing a "refresh." I beg to differ. (A refresh is restoring computer while keeping existing files but removing non Win8 apps). All you have to do is create a Windows 8 recovery disk. If you put windows 8.1 on your main computer and want to revert back, just pop in the disk, run the setup, and keep everything. Then you're golden. You will just need to reorganize your Metro app locations.
Happy preview playing!
