Just been fixing up a old Pc for the kids and cant work out why the temps are @ 65c ideal and underload 85c. Its a intel celeron D 340 Socket 775 2.93. I have fitted a new heatsink and fittted new memory to it and still temps are high. Im not sure if this is normal or what else to try.

I tend to avoid that style of cooler, which kinda looks like a Stock Heatsink with a brand name on it...

For testing purposes, fit your Cooler Master V8 onto it.....see what happens, if you still get high temps, I wouldn't say its an airflow problem but more so inadequate cooling

I'd be looking at voltage setting in bios....

I will try that in the morning and see what it dose and if i have enought room on the back of the board and case to mount the cooler

You could always just leave the left side panel off if you have limited room. SHouldnt be a problem since it shouldn't take too long.

the kids are happy it was crashing while on the net and found that the HDD was at fault there and thats how i found the temp problem when loking in the bois and then ran HW Monitor in XP

Board problem? I would check to see if there any new bios versions for it. May help resolve any bug issues reporting temps. If the HDD is getting very hot(over 50c) then you need more airflow or its dying.
