Trackmania Nations Forever - Full Game, Free And For All

I've not tried it yet :)

I've read a lot of posts in the past where people said it was good tho, I might download it on steam tonight as it's only 500mb.

Looks like a fun game more than a simulation, the main thing I guess is multiplayer.

Features:

  • A completely free game.
  • A captivating solo mode with 65 brand new tracks.
  • Join millions of players online and compete on thousands of tracks on the TrackMania servers.
  • One complete TrackMania environment: Stadium "Forever".
  • An in-game editor to create your own tracks, video studio to realize your own movies and a paint shop to customize your vehicles.
  • Official ladders for solo and multiplayer.
  • Compatible with TrackMania United Forever (profile and multiplayer servers).

didn't realise the steam one was starforce free..

loving this so far might take it off and re-install using steam since that centralises it all i guess :)

Starforce free? What's that mean? I downloaded it manually and play it quite a bit, im almost top 100 in the UK.. But every time i fire up the game that place is worsened by people who play it more and overtake me :(

Well worth a go though, i mean, its free!

Starforce is a copy protection program like securom.

It has been said that it is a security risk and is initialised via a number of drivers which makes it rootkit like in it's use of ring0. It's also seen as malware by many people.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starforce#Controversy

There is a Starforce removal tool available - http://www.onlinesecurity-on.com/protect.phtml?c=55

Altho I would guess every time you run a starforce game it would be installed and re-initialised, much the same as securom.

according to the sf removal tool, theres no starforce installed with the trackmania nations forever standalone. i tried it the other day

yer :)

It's only the paid version of trackmania now I think.

The two links posted should both be starforce free as said in the first post :)

I downloaded it from the net last night :) (gave up on steam)

I've just been messing around with it on my xbox controller and it seems like a really fun game. It even has rumble support & the graphics are actually pretty good.

We need to get some OC3D races going lol :D

Downloaded it last night had quite a caffufal getting it to run. First the launcher wouldnt work, so I needed to substitute some DX files missing from vista. Then found out that the game is not compatible with saitek keyboards or logi G7s, so had to mess around disabling windows HID devices in dev manager :(

Got it running now though so some OC3D races sounds good!

Odd... Works no my vista + eclipse II fine...

Ya must be unlucky I guess :)

Dont think there was a bug with the eclipse 2 but certainly with the original, quite a few posts about it on the support forums

maybe we could make a list of ingame names so people can organise some races?

my ingame name: equk

I have lot of people on my list now :) it's a shame you can only have 16 people :(

I've just not had time to play online yet. So far I've just been playing singleplayer and building tracks as whenever I'm on no-one else is :(

The building tracks bit is quite fun :) there are some amazingly hard singleplayer tracks as you get toward the last ones

I'm bored of this game now already :(

It was fun, building tracks is quite good aswell, but ultimately the cars handling gets annoying.

Online is ok, but as it's only a time trial thing it's not as fun as racing on a grid where you get collisions etc.

Was good for free I guess.
