I have only included games I've actually played as there are loads of free games out there but so many are bad.

Any suggestions for other free games would be appreciated

Info: Use to be pay to play, it's now free with the option to pay money for additional features and the expansions. Basically it's Lord of the Rings in a MMO format. 4 races to choose from, humans, elves, dwarves and hobbits.

Basically Everquest 2 in a free to play format, that allows purchase of further resources, gear, races etc.

MMO released the same time as WOW and despite that handicap is a solid game, which is well supported.

Amazing game which I played for 3 years solid. Still has an active community about...

Based off of the Quake 3 engine, Enemy Territory (ET) was released for free in 2003 as it was canceled at the last minute as an addon for the hit game Return To Castle Wolfenstein (released 2001). The game still succeeds in CB, ESL and many other leagues. There is many sites around which offer support and an active community, but the one major site is http://www.crossfire.nu

The install I gave is the latest with the latest competition mod and public mods included. ETPRO is what is played on most servers now.

I used to be one of the best WarRock players out there, playing ESL in multiple ladders and in all of them ranking top 10, played it since the beta. And then the game just got messed up by hackers and so I quit (this was about 3 years ago.) The fact that it was even more expensive than World of Warcraft because you had to buy gold premium every month to be able to purchase the necessary weapons didn't help either. Tried it a couple of weeks ago after not playing it for 3 years, bought an M4 which used to be really good (I'd own people that used the best, priciest weapons in the game) only to find that it got nerfed so much that it's now utter cr*p. They are simply forcing you to keep spending money on the game by nerfing the weapons you can just about buy every month if you play as much as I did (a lot.)

Also, do note that one of the screenshots you posted is from a WarRock hacking site. How appropriate eh?

Honestly, don't even bother with it.

Vindictus is definitely the best looking free RPG out there.

Its not available in Europe or most of the world so don't even try.

One of the better ones in my view is Allods though I am currently of it because slow FPS.

Champions Online (not that good but some might like it)

And Age of Conan has gotten good reviews but again I haven't played due to 5-10FPS rate. Its not yet free. Its capped at level 20 I think.
