Top 10 or so Anti-Virus/Anti Malware Software 2015?

I was under the impression MSE has made great strides and is quite reliable now. I stopped relying on COMODO or Kapersky for my AV needs years ago and haven't had an issue.

You guys repeating anecdotes complaining about it missing big threats care to cite your sources?

Mistake I was meant to put Bitdefender/AVG/ME. Need to test all three to see which one suits me though.

I use AVG, although not the free version, I like the realtime protection better than Kasperski. I used to use Kasp but found that AVG will often find things it missed so I switched and got rid of the old one.

With the free versions you get what you pay for and very limited at that.

Up until today I was using Avast but have just removed it, as it was helping to cause BSOD's. I posted a few days ago that any game I opened was getting as far as the load screen and then crashing, and after having my event logs translated buy the guy over on Eight forums, it was down to Avast, MSI apps, and a few other things

I've since looked into, this and apparently they are quite common, so I'm going back to AVG I think.

Bitdefender is the best rated AV for the past few years. I use it and have no problems. Its just annoying when it is on paranoid mode that every little .exe that tries to start it prompts you to allow or block... whats annoying is that you have to click it 30 freaken times before it stops asking.

MSE couldn't spot a virus called Maliciousfile.exe . Its only there to stop idiots getting their laptop completely ruined.

Its pretty sad tbh. If MS could make it much better and then used it as a built in OS security for future windows as a default it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Hell even if they made it purely as an internal OS security to protect simply the kernel and other major pieces of the OS much harder to hack into from unknown users it wouldn't be a bad change. More like a built in smart protection system rather than a software download.
