To good to be true????

Yeah bought it at 219. Was expecting an apology and we made an error in pricing but it's being shipped.

The reviews on the board look good generally, with some impressive 2600 oc's.

Looking forward to getting hold of it.

Cool, so you're just waiting for delivery. Can't wait to see the system.

If they did make an error, then you are not liable to pay the full amount. You are quite lucky if they did make a mistake, hahaha

Certainly looks like I've saved about £90 against rrp which suits me. Hoping I've not got to mess around with my loop to much but it looks to be in roughly the same location. USB 3 header is in a stupid location, even more when you compare it with the gene z. Once it arrives I'll take some pictures of the transplant. Shortly before putting the asrock on eBay.

The USB 3.0 header should really be on the right hand side of the board near the DIMM slots. Its not a big deal and you saved a nice chunk of money

Totally agree with you, reviews I've read suggest real estate was tight to cram everything on the board but the gene has less space. I'm interested to see if this lucid virtu system makes much difference to vantage CPU scores.

Due for delivery today, shame I'm working down in Crawley overnight.

I'll post benchmarks for the asrock @ stock and the asus @ stock and then some overclock testing.

Busy weekend then, I'm shooting on saturday.

iPhone prediction sucks monkey balls!!

Just thought I'd register to say you probably won't get the Maximus IV Extreme-Z. I ordered it exactly as you did, from AVIDES for £219. However, it turned up today and it's the P8Z68-V Pro. I thought they might've just packaged the wrong motherboard but it looks like their product code on AMAZON is for the P8Z68-V Pro as well.

That's borderline illegal. I would slap them with your amazon order which says maximus extreme-z.

The invoice I got sent from them states maximus extreme so they'll be dealing with a seriously pissed punter if it turns up and isn't.

Even the invoice that came inside the parcel said "Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z Intel Z68 Motherboard". I've contacted them, they haven't replied yet, but Amazon have told me if they don't reply in 3 working days, they'll give me my money back. It doesn't make much sense though, AVIDES actually sell the P8Z68-V separately, so I don't really understand how this mistake can be made. I don't actually think they even stock the Maximus. Either way yeah, I'm not happy.

Yeah they do but they sell it at £140 rather than £219 or £308.

If that's the stunt they are pulling then I'll follow the same process. Won't be returning the motherboard unless they organise a courier to fit in with my schedule either, then I'll sell it as brand new and use the cash to purchase the board I actually ordered from someone who can supply it.

Idiots.

Yeah, problem is, no-one really supplies the Maximus IV (especially the Z68) for anywhere near £220, at least, I couldn't find anyone. You can get the P67 version for £240 though.

I'm not sure where they stand in law.

They haven't fulfilled the contract you entered into with them. I think there is a mechanism for making them.

All I would suggest is keeping every bit of correspondance you had with both amazon and avides.

It's not your problem they either didn't have the stock, priced incorrectly or then decided to send the incorrect item.

They could have got out of this using the EoE decleration/process but they've chosen to process the order giving you the impression they had the board available and were sending it.

They are on seriously sticky ground, I would hope Amazon will nail them for it.

I'm sure you will get the right motherboard or else you would see the reviews stating that they received the incorrect motherboard.

I thought the same too, it's why I ordered it from them despite being a bit concerned about buying it from some seller on AMAZON. If you look to questions, you'll see someone asked why this product has the product code of the P8Z68-V Pro.

EDIT: @Lee, I don't know if you've noticed, but AVIDES are not longer listed as selling this motherboard, so I imagine they've realised their mistake from other customers.

It's Ballicom International and the price has been changed to £312. Are you sure you bought it from the same place as lee?

He got it for £219, and then he said the price went up to £308. This is what AVIDES did, no other seller on there ever had it as low as £219. The only reason it's showing Ballicom Intl. now is because AVIDES withdrew the product.
