To clock or not to clock!?

Hate to burst your bubble but thats AMD so that temp is wrong....

I always think of it as a delta temp but for an accurate temp use AMD overdrive

Also temps mean nothing really dude other than you might have a good cooler

Yeah, none of the temp monitoring programs get the right temperature with AMD chips. The closest is AMD's overdrive with actually uses the right sensor although in my experience its still a little bit off. ( I supposedly idle at 9c when I have my fans maxed out...)

Still think its delta

22c room + 9c = 31c and that is possible with a stock chip - remote possibility but still a possibility lol

Possibly but what I find weird is that until I reinstalled the drivers when I changed my 'card overdrive was reporting my idle temp to be 30 and load temp to be around 45 (i'd OC much higher if it wasn't for my power supply still not being returned to me). Now its all over the place D:. I think it'll be like my old i3-550 (11c idle on a stock cooler with max case fan speed) in which when the cpu temperature goes below a certain point it gets confused and reports the delta temps.

Oh! have to watch the temps if I do overclock it, ill give AMD overdrive a go.

whatever you do though, DO NOT USE OVERDRIVE FOR OVERCLOCKING. Its laughably bad. In my own experimentation I used it's auto overclocking thing and oh my is it a dumb dumb. If you do the overclocking manually using overdrive win 7 disables aero as soon as you increase the clock speed. Just do it the good ol' way in the bios ^_^

Everything about overclocking a CPU at a software level is wrong. I can't remember exactly, but if I'm right, AMD processors have a much lower thermal threshold than Intel chips. You'll want to keep it below 60c or not much higher.
I can't stress enough about using the BIOS to overclock though...

Post back!

Bios above all. You'll probably not get an amazing OC with your board but it should do alright ^_^.

Well...my 140mm BitFenix has just decided to decapitate its self. one of the blades has snapped off  that put my full load graphics card temp up to 80c under load, think I better get my cooling sorted before I clock anything

I get ridiculous idle temperatures on my FX-8350 too, it's telling me 15C as I type right now. With a hefty load, temperatures it rises to the mid-50's which I'd say is probably accurate, as my Hyper Evo 212 is never warm to the touch. I remember reading Overdrive's temperatures aren't accurate under like 30 or something.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about temperatures as these CPUs have inbuilt throttling to cool them down if they get too hot, hence if it's not throttling chances are it's fine.
