Still it made me chuckle a bit, even if I would think of doing the same if the card could live up to its promises :lol:

Yes that was plan, I had histeria when NVIDIA decide to separate mid chip for two class with 300$ price difference. I was close to epileptic attack. My nerves was shacked and they disturb my minds and damage my emotions with that decision.
Second heart stroke hit me when they push EVGA to forbid EVBoot little connector...
I though last winter upgrade from AMD on IB, Z77, GK110, that was plan, but this is to expensive... I mean I don't know. Worth for sure. Single strong chip is best for 3 years gaming, and for that you need something power like this. Everything lower can became weak if you play with filters and playing without filters is not playing, if I play game I do that like they design games. 1920x1080 is enough but must be fluid, smooth like butter.

Looks like the card was temporarily listed on a shop. I really hope that price tag of $1300 is EU only. I'd be willing to spend the originally rumored $900 but $1300 is too much for %85 of a 690 even if it is single GPU.

That card from list I would buy only for 130$ and immediately to sell.
But 1300$ NO WAY. That is not satisfaction, that is disgusting.
I mean I would feel really bad to between thousand and two thousand euros or dollars for card because NVIDIA decide before one year that is to much and decide to sell best model with mid range chips for 600$ and now they want to suck for more for one more chip. That cost 100-150$ to make and why they decide to sell 680 for 600$ instead of 350-370$ that only NVIDIA know. I mean for 1300$ everything fall in water what I say and that is disgusting, and only crazy people can count scores and transfers in more and more dollars.
I think NVIDIA and Intel are guilty in big percent because people start to buy consoles, I mean who care for 1920x1080 or 2560 resolution when games are poorly optimized and they suck one graphic card for more than thousand dollars. On first place is gameplay, and again you will play with BETA drivers, waiting new drivers and people on console now and new generation when show up, no such problems. Not 1300$, 1000$ is disgusting. That is maybe for I don't know best of best model with waterblock... That chip cost 100-150$ and card 25-30$ to make.
I though to say look them sell mid chip like best and now sell best like best of best and everything for 800$ but no someone talk about twice, double of 800$. OMG that is money for summer vacation almost. For one of ten parts of PC. This world is sick, deeply.

You don't only pay for the "hardware" itself but also for the research.
It takes a lot of time to develope the GPUs
Well the card isn't going to be marketed as a general consumer card. The 7xx will still be coming along later this year. Also I think the price is justified if the US price of $900 is correct as it's slightly less powerful the the 690 and on top of that it's $100 cheaper and single gpu. If AMD ever goes away then you'll have reason to call Nvidia pricing disgusting. I plan to pick one up and ride out the next generation of consoles with it.
What makes you think its less powerfull than a 690 ?
It's supposed to be 85% as powerful as the 690 so not as powerful. Granted we don't have any concrete information yet so it could end up being faster. Hopefully since review samples have gone out we should have some benchmarks soon enough.
I can't wait for it. I'm going to start saving up ASAP.

Because this card is 20% weaker than GTX690, than NVIDIA can think to sell for 20% less price. But like we know they had own looking for card.
Expensive chip, first only small number of card and people will pay what they ask, because that is not for natural humans, I mean that is graphic card and NVIDIA NEWEST graphic card and only most riches people need to have privilige to play at 60fps every game with all filter. But than later they will make more chips, only because they love their fans and want to satisfied them for 1000e and x7 earning.
I would love to see what will they start to sell if somehow one day Intel and NVIDIA jump in some console together... Hoooo...that will be interesting from price side...

You are looking at a tesla GPU using the GK110 chip. The rumor is there is a GTX (gaming) card also using the GK110 and that is also rumored to be the titan.
i just figured that this isn't a titan, but a k20 card. probably. it's quite confusing because EVERY post about the Titan for some reason includes a picture of that card, but nobody ever mentions that it is not a titan card.

Look up the Tesla K20 (no X) and you pretty much have a 680 looking GPU with a green PCB.
I highly doubt they will make a custom PCB for it, just lock out what doesn't work and sell it "as is". I also don't know if any custom PCB versions will come along either because at some point I remembered reading about how Nvidia had warned resellers for even putting stickers on it !
I don't quite get why people are so interested in it. It's going to be one card that costs stupid money. With any luck the best thing to come from it will be cheaper Kepler cards.

GK110 is failed K20 Teslas. Ones that don't make the purist grade that they need to make (and believe me, it's veeeery pure).
At £3000 or whatever it costs it needs to be.
Desktop GPUs (as we know /looks at AMD) use far less reliable memory and ICs. The reason is when your desktop card crashes AMD and Nvidia don't care. If a workstation or server crashes it's potentially millions of pounds/dollars down the swanny.
I mean can you imagine Nvidia trying to explain a BSOD to Pixar studios? :lol:
