Intresting read here - http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-rumor-nvidia-launch-gk110-based-geforce-graphics-card

I really hope the prices they are quoting are wrong, guess we will find out soon enough !!

"NVIDIA is rumored to be launching a GK110-based graphics card called GeForce Titan. This new card will be named Titan and is positioned squarely between incumbent high-end consumer graphics cards based on the GeForce GTX 680 and the dual-GPU GeForce GTX 690.
According to Swedish website SweClockers, the GeForce Titan will be priced at US$899 and made available as earlier as end of February this year. Eschewing the end-consumer GeForce GTX 600 series' GK104 graphics processor, the GeForce Titan will be powered by the Kepler GK110 GPU that is featured in NVIDIA's enterprise-class Tesla graphics card series.

Due to the complexity of the Kepler GK110 GPU, NVIDIA is allegedly not allowing graphics card manufacturers to meddle with the design of the product; instead, the company will only sell suppliers of graphics cards pre-built boards and will let them place stickers on cooling solutions, just like in case of GeForce GTX 690. The GeForce Titan is supposed to deliver 85% of GeForce GTX 690 performance levels, with "...a number of interesting performance optimizations and capabilities.". Do watch this space as we keep tabs on more Titan developments."

So, this would have been the original 680. I had assumed they'd be waiting to release it later this year under a 700 series name. Odd that they'd do this...

Here is some more info translated from swedish - http://www.sweclockers.com/nyhet/16402-nvidia-gor-geforce-titan-med-kepler-gk110

"Multiple independent sources say the SweClockers to GK110 appears in Geforce Titan - an upcoming graphics cards in high-end class. The name alludes to the world's fastest supercomputer Cray Titan at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the USA, which is based on 18,688 pieces of Nvidia Tesla K20X with just GK110.

Calculation Card Nvidia Tesla K20X based on GK110 with 2688 CUDA cores, 384-bit memory bus, and 6 GB of GDDR5 memory. The circuit actually contains 2880 units, but NVIDIA has disabled a cluster (SMX), presumably for production reasons. While stopping the clock frequencies at relatively low 732 MHz GPU and 5.2 GHz GDDR5.

According SweClockers sources the launch of the GeForce Titanium to resemble that of the GeForce GTX 690th Partner Manufacturers must follow Nvidia's reference design to the letter and can not even put their own stickers on graphics cards. The performance is estimated at about 85 percent of a Geforce GTX 690 .

The same sources claim that Geforce Titanium released in late February and has a suggested retail price of 899 USD."

I would guess the reason for it not being a 700 series card is that at $899 its not going to be a typical 70 or 80 etc which are usually around the $400-$500 mark. I am guessing this is more aimed at the enthusiast

What now GK110.... that would be good if NVIDIA launched single chip so powerfull for 700-800$, Classified version of that card promises 3 years of calm dream for people who can pay that... For us 680 4GB is enough, I mean for me.

But I can't wait to see that monster in EVGA version. NVIDIA owes that to people... because everything, because 120$ more almost weaker chip than AMD, because delay fastest their chip and because push EVGA to remove EVBoot Connector from Classified card in moment when they know who go on Classified and what they build in that card for 2x times more voltage.
I would love to see double RAM and 8+8+8 pin and at least 15 phases under huge cooler and waterblock and big red fonts GK110 Classified and 1000W PSU needed for idle...

Fastest GK110 chip at the moment is on the Tesla k20X and costs 3199 dollars -

Stream Processors 2688 (1 cluster of shaders on this chip have been lasered)
Core Clock 732MHz
Memory Clock 5.2GHz GDDR5
Memory Bus Width 384-bit
VRAM 6GB
Single Precision 3.95 TFLOPS
Double Precision 1.31 TFLOPS (1/3)
Transistor Count 7.1B
TDP 235W
Manufacturing Process TSMC 28nm
Architecture Kepler
Launch Price $3199

Can you imagine Crysis 3 on EVGA GK110, Super Classified, smooth play, explosion, filters, lightening and shadows.... BOOM, little noise of fan, or noise of fans on radiator...
I love to hear that, little, because that is machine not HTPC, little rustle of Gentle Typhoons are welcomed... explosion and shooting during gameplay cover that very... good.
Maybe NVIDIA prepare NEW POWER for Crysis 3.

I have a feeling that the only thing that will force nVidia to release a single card faster than a GTX690 will be DirectX 12...
Once that drops, we'll see a massive increase in GPU performance ~ you heard it here first :P

some more information i guess
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/GeForce-Titan-GK110-GTX690,20797.html

maybe going to get one of those with a waterblock...

Thats a huge score for a single card !!! Current Record for a single card is 6429 on a 680 @1600mhz.

Price will be big but really worth if card is so powerful. If they start to mess with performance than better to drop price A LOT. Special if price is around 800-850$ than interesting version of card cost 1000$. Double phases, double memory, bigger PCB, backplate, maybe Swiftech waterblock out of box, Uhhhuuu 1000$ EASY.

From a marketing standpoint I do not see them releasing something like this under the 6XX name. The GK110 should be released under the 7XX series name. If you take a look at NVidias BS (Balance Sheet) from the last 4 years the numbers are dropping from 2012, as did 2009 to 2010. This is telling me not only will they be releasing a new card soon, but also a new series to bump it up a little, and the ups and downs seem to be in correlation to the release of a new GPU. If any of you know how to read a balance sheet you will understand what I am talking about. It is illogical from a financial standpoint to release another 6XX series flagship card. And makes far more sense to release a new series in soon time.

I would love if GK110 is class for self, something between 6xx and 7xx series.
NVIDIA SINGLE CLASSIFIED DESTROYER FROM EVGA.
Than they have more time for series 7xx, can continue to sell series 6xx until sell everything and still have best single chip, stronger both than AMD 7xxx and 8xxx. That would be great.

nah nobody cares about DX12 until we get a better OS than win8, because win7 won't support it. nVidia might support win8 because of the tablets which use their APU's, but they aren't stupid, they know nobody who is really ethusiastic about PCs will ever get Win8.

That may, in fact, be a good way to get gamers to buy Windows 8.
Want to enjoy the latest titles with the newest Direct X technology? Better get used to tiles.

Not happening. 8 is pish, not a chance I'm afraid.... I seriously hope they realise it's a failure and don't bloody force it. :(

As for this 'leak' this feels like another run up to a sub-par new card release as an inbetweener while they keep everyone interested by teasing us with Tesla specs...

i'm not much of a fan of recent games anyway, the gaming industry kinda turned into crap lately. and just for dx12 i won't use that abomination called windows 8, i hate that i have to use it at school atm, but it's part of the apprenticeship i guess.

I decide to give right kidney. At first moment I thought left than I decide right is better because surgeon can snaag and heart little and that is problem. I decide to give and part of liver but only for Classified version and only with backplate.
I will survive with rest.
