HI everyone, first off let me start by saying THANK YOU to Tom, you have got me hooked on computers and i've wanted to build my own rig since i started watching your video's.

Now I had a HAF X already, but that just wasn't enough

so i finally got to buying the following things:

-Maximus IV Extreme-z

-2500K

-NH-D14

-8GB (2x4gb) ripjaws x ddr3 1866 (9-10-9-28)

-GTX 580 MATRIX (my pride and joy)

-120GB vertex3

-all powered with a CM silent pro 1200W psu (because it goes with the case and it was one of the cheaper 1200W, i might go sli next year)

I should also say that i'm off at university, and i only got to spend a little on this so far, so its pretty rough (it was my first time, so this took me a while

I KNOW, i know, cable's are messy its ok, i'll be doing that this weekend, i just wanted to get it up and running so i can put windows on it and install drivers.

here's i pic of the ram hiding under the D-14 and i'll just tell you, they fit perfectly under there

I was happy to post on the first try, and i'm happy to say that i got windows and drivers installed, but sadly no OCing YET, i'll be getting to that right after some tidying up in the case.

If you're still reading i would like to let you know that i'll be asking a load of questions when i get home because i am still new at this and i value the things people on this form say since a lot of you are experienced.

hope you enjoyed so far, sorry for the crappy quality pics, but i wasn't sure how to upload them full size (they were like 2mb each, but still they were taking with my phone, so they were never that good)

i'll keep pics coming, especially of the back panel area (but for now i'd be too embarrassed to show u the spaghetti mess that's there)

Looks good dude, I do find the fact youve used an MATX board in such a huge case quite funny though

Its the asus Maximus IV Extreme-z that's not a MATX board that's a EATX board, aka same length as a ATX but wider. (u reviewed the p67 version of this on ur channel, this is just a z68 update; it scored 10 in performance on OC3D, so I knew it was a good buy)

And thanks guys for ur comments

And let me quickly add that my new rig does not have an optical drive (ignore my profile pic) and the reason is that I don't wanna have cables tuning up there, and everything is faster if u have it on a USB stick (also I wanted to join in with TTL and the 'cool' kids

Haha I remember what he told mr. Strawberry when he surprised him with an upgrade
