Time for a GPU upgrade I think

Arh ok so my money is best spent on a 770? Epic 1080p gaming, may struggle with 1440p gaming?

What about the 4GB 770? Tom says in a review 4 Gb is for anything above 1080p gaming?

Remember, i want to put a waterblock on whichever card i decide on. Incase that might interfere with any decision making.

if the card can't use those 4gb at 1440p it won't change anything

well if a GPU is only strong enough to effectively use say 2.3GB while gaming, why have 4?
vram doesn't really make a card faster (unless the card maxes the vram out obviously, then having additional vram would improve performance as the vram is holding it back)

For 1440p? go with the 780 as you need as much GPU power as you can get but the dual gpu and titan cards are not really worth it.

Ok well i think i should try and get the 780 based on what everyone is saying. I've got my dad to ask a friend of his in the US if he will send us one. It's the only way i'm gonna be able to get one at a price i can justify.

well yeah, you need more vram for a higher resolution as the frames require more space. but if the gpu itself can't process the frames fast enough to use all the provided vram, more vram doesn't make the card faster

7950/70 Xfire or 770 SLI would handle it. You just don't have the room so 780 is about the only option which is why it's kept on coming up. A titan would work obviously and only worth it if you have loads of money.

buying a titan is just supid imo, you get so much more for your money with a 780 if you really want such a powerful card

I grabbed the 4gb version for 390€, definitely a great deal. Solid card, it's not loud, it's cool, looks great, well maybe a backplate is missing, but hell, for that price i wont complain.

Ok so i have found a 780 i can stretch to. Will i be voiding the warranty by putting a waterblock on it? If so i guess it doesn't matter which vender i choose? They are all "reference" right? Apart from the few which don't share the stock nvidia cooler?

This is the 780 vs my current card (6870). Now am i right in saying it's roughly 3 times better than my 6870?

Sorry to keep asking questions but this is a LOT of money to me (in fact i don't actually have enough yet) and i want to make sure i'm not wasting it.

Only get a 780 if it's worth it. Otherwise a 7970 or 770 will do you fine.
