Three hours of OCCT?

Alright guys

I have had OCCT Linpack running for over three hours to validate stability.
My question is how long should I be running the test to find out if my overclock is stable?
Also am I using the right test? Should I be using the OCCT test or is the Linpack test that OCCT has alright to use?

Cheers guys

You've found the max temps while running OCCT. I don't think your cpu can go higer than this. However Prime is btter to check the stability. If the system was unstable OCCT would cause blue screen Prime just stops if system is ustable so you can restart and fix the OC.
Also download open harware monitor and have it open in the background, always

Hes talking out of his chocolate starfish. Ive got CPU's that have done nothing but OCCT at max clocks and they are fine.

I've known people who managed to kill something in their rig by running OCCT.
So as long as motherboard, psu and cooler are capable of handling it, should be fine, noted!

So I should be sorted then?
I've done a total of 18 hours of OCCT and about 4 hours worth of OCCT linpack not had any blue screens or crashes and my temps are fair.

Try Prime95 aswell dude - OCCT is great but its worth trying a couple of other programs in after just to make 100% sure

I'm curious what is the best option to use in prime95 to put the biggest stress on the CPU? Blend? Don't mean to hijack thread but it is a relevant question to OP

I use custom with 90-94% +/- of my memory and set the interval to 10 minutes.

I do not run the FFT in place.

Aida64 works pretty good too.

So too consider a overclock stable how long on prime95 & occt and occt linpack would you say ?

If it's a 24/7 overclock you are after, i'd say at least 8 hours each. Don't really need OCCT, just the Linkpack, as the regular version is much much less stressful on the CPU.
