Well usually headphones with 3.5mm jacks are the "Gaming" type and not the type you would be using with £200 soundcards.

The jack size does not matter and is not specific to any "genre" of listening.

The first dedicated sound card I bought was the Z, the oem without the shroud, it was OK'ish for about 3 days, then it just died a death, I went with a cheapo DGX for what I think was less than 20 quid at the time, and it just pissed all over the Z.
