I am a newbie on this scene.

I was wondering how long do these units last? What when CPU chips change size ect? can you change the block on the mach2 for future use?

Has anyone got a unit for sale second hand?

questions questions.

Hope there isnt a guide I have somehow missed.

Thanks.

Welcome.

You cant go wrong with a mach2 mate.

Okay as far as life goes - they arebuilt around proven technology used in a conventional fridge or air conditioning unit. Expect a life in excess of 5 years.

Unfortunately mate - you need to be an established member (50 posts, not spam but real posts) to access the classifieds section - and it is against the rules to pimp in any other area of this forum - so we are unable to disclose that to you.

As for kits, like anything development is ongoing at there is a full selection of CPU kits to use now (SktA, skt939, Skt478, LGA775) there will no doubt be new sockets and new kits to suit so do not be concerned about that.

Mach2 Gt's are quieter than the vapochill units which people prefer if they have to leave there PC on overnight (folding etc.....).

And of course (with the right hardware) you can overclock your CPU till it cries!!!

Like others on this site, I am running an FX San Diego core at 3.5Ghz (2.6Ghz stock) and these sort of overclocks are not uncommon - so jump in there mate and fill yer boots.

*But not guaranteed- depends on stepping, tech node and quality of chip.

Welcome to our happy family!

The Prometeia is the best cooling product on the market in my honest opinion. The only issue at the present time is production time. They are all hand made to order now, so there can be a significant lead time involved when placing an order - unless of course you can get second hand.
