Think I've gone off gaming, Help me ! ^_^

Dicehunter

Resident Newb
So for the past few months I've not been able to get into a game at all, I've got and completed all the major releases through Steam, Origin and Uplay i.e Assassins Creed Series, Batman Arkham Series, Battlefield Series, Splinter Cell Series, Far Cry Series, Mass Effect Series, Tomb Raider Series, The Witcher Series, Metro Series, Crysis Series, Elder Scrolls Series, Borderlands Series, Bioshock Series, Company Of Heroes Series and finally the Hitman Series.

And After those that I really enjoyed and had lots of fun with I just can't seem to get into anything, I play a game for 5 minutes then I just go back to watching a missed episode of Supernatural or continuing with my first watch of 24.

I work as a personal trainer around the country *Not The UK* and in Europe a lot as well so I am very active so I do other things as well I don't just game ^_^ but I think I've hit a road block with PC Gaming and my rig *In Sig* is just being used for TV shows :(

I get the same thing dude, and it's my damn job to play games. I've been finding it seriously hard to get into anything or find motivation to even try. But I guess the best way to manage it is just by finding people worth playing with. Find a MP game, get a bunch of mates, and do it as a group. That way you can slowly rediscover your love of gaming, while just having a laugh with buds.

You have finally grown up. Welcome to the club.

just kidding... The fact for me is that I find modding more of a hobby than gaming now, so that is where my passion is.

However I have been getting into FF14 Realm Reborn and to my surprise, enjoying it alot casually playing.

I've done the same sort of thing......hitting that wall is a real PitA (Pain in the A***) and its come just a fortnight after getting a much better internet package.

I find if I'm bored with my current games I revert to the old skool collection, in my case I go to things like Age Of Empires 2 and The Longest Journey.

I suppose you could breakout a video camera and record something for youtube.... or do gameplay videos etc...

As is your Rig is sad to see, all that power being wasted :(

Try something utterly new, or revisit an old game you used to really love playing... I've recently gotten into DayZ in a big way since the Arma II / DayZ humble bundle came out, and I'm also playing through Resident Evil 4 which was my fave GC/Wii game ever - and it looks great on the PC with a few HD texture mods applied.

It happened to me a couple of years back and I decided to take a year off. Since coming back I have had times where I game more and times where I game less.

Best thing to do is not over do it, same with anything. The more you do something the less exciting or fun it becomes. One thing that works for me is by playing some old games on a emu. I'm playing the MGS series at the moment and having more fun playing MGS1 and 2 than I have had playing any modern game in quite some time.

If you are watching 24 for the first time burn through that before you star gaming again. When you finish the entire series, play the PS2 24 game on the PCSX2 emulator :D

I've always been like that. I spend my time in games which are mainly based on movement, sometimes multiplayer fps games, but not too often anymore. SP games i barely ever touch.
Other than that i always have my second monitor running (SEE? YOU NEED ONE DICEHUNTER, YOU JUST DO!) with some movie, series, what have ya.
Procrastinating with things i don't really have to pay too much attention to all day.

I'm exactly the same, it has been about 2 months now and I've probably clocked up about 10 hours game play, that is coming from about 45-50 hours a week for the past 10 years. I'm in teamspeak with the clan constantly just talking about sh*t... That and using my PC to watch movies/TV shows.

Just take some time off. I've been gaming since the early 80's and there are stretches I'm bored with it and take several months when I'll go without or barely gaming. Don't sweat it. Just enjoy doing something else and after a while you'll find yourself wanting to fire up some games and you'll be back into it.

Try some games with a steep learning curve. For example I've played about 1000hrs of dota2 and I'm not bored yet.

Tried Killing Floor? Probably one of the best multiplayer games currently, graphics you might consider dated but it's brilliant. You should play more indie games, the Worms series, The Ball (good adventure game), The Binding of Isaac, Bastion, to name but a few.

I'm at a bit of a dead-end for gaming at the minute, haven't powered on my gaming machine to play a game in weeks :(

I get odd spots where I don't feel like gaming. happens to everyone. Having a group of mates to do multiplayer/TS,Skype with definitely helps a lot!

Its because your not playing the right sort of game...you need GTA 5. There is no way you can't not play that game, it's just an epic all round fat 10/10.

This, pretty much above all else, really, really helps pull you back in from the downer.

It's finding the people and the right game though

You can all join me in FF14!

I actually tried it a few weeks ago, Didn't do it for me

I will when or if it comes out on PC
