Hello, I would first like to apologize for my spelling mistakes and my modest vocabulary. I'm French and I do not practice very much your language.

I have a Nvidia GTX 480. I'm perfectly happy but it heats a lot. After reading my test case, a Corsair 800D I followed the advice of Tom, who had obtained a large gain by changing the ventilation fans home. I invested in the fan pushing more air and the temperature was lowered but at the cost of greater noise.

To find a little quiet and not wanting to complicate my life with watercooling, I try to find a cooler that can successfully replace the original one.

After a quick search I found two radiators that seem interesting at Thermalright, Shaman and Spitfire. But I can not know which would be most suitable for me.

Could you help me by making me choose to enjoy your experience with these models?

Thank you very much.

I do not know much about the Artic cooling solutions. I know they are used on some graphics cards with some success. I just have a doubt about the noise they make. The Thermalright cooling solutions are delivered with a 140mm fan that seem very good for not too much noise. In addition, on the Spitfire, it is possible to add a radiator for VRM seem very effective. I will continue my research to finalize my choice. Thank you.

The Shaman is ludicrously expensive. Problem is you buy it for £55 and it's half a cooler. Then you have to buy the VRM and ram coolers and that's more. Not worth it dude.

Oh and the spitfire is crap and over priced. Custom PC did a big GPU cooler roundup a few months ago and it worked out at loads. Stay away from the Trad aswell.. Infact stay away from Thermalright.

Get one of these.

And the rest that you need can be found here (sadly they don't have any for the 470 yet)

Thank you for your answers.

So obviously you're not a fan of Thermalright.

I did some research and actually cooling solutions from Zalman and Arctic appear to be the best level for money.

I'll buy the Artic model as you advise me.

Thank you again.
