Thermal paste to lapping? Don't be silly...

Is it really worth lapping the CPU? I want better temps, I reach the high to mid 60's under full load in Prime 95. I got a i5-750 @ 4,0GHz and a Noctua NH-D14. But I'm afraid of breaking the CPU. Is it easy to do that? And Tom, I got a question for you, how the hell did you get your i7 to 4,8GHz!?

Why? Your temps seem fine to me, I mean, you've got a 4Ghz overclock on your i5 which is quite a substantial overclock.

True, but it's better either way. And my idle temps are pretty high. About 40c. And I want to go past 4GHz which means higher temps.
