Thermal Pads

Hello folks,

In the process of ordering some thermal pads for the very first time and haven't really got a clue as to what's classed as good or bad.

I've been looking up and down, viewing the usual tat from eBay and came across some Phobya thermal pads.

Links to specialtech with details on two pads that caught my eye:

Phobya - SATP

Phobya XT - SATP

Just wondering if there is anyone with thermal pad knowledge or if anyone knows if these pads are actually good / what would you recommend.

These look like the ones placed under RAMsinks on memory or other heatsinks. I've only seen Startech's thermal pads, and they just fill up any surface gaps between the heatsink and the memory surfaces and are said to be low conductivity. It's supposed to soften once it gets warmed up. You could always try contacting Specialtech for their expertise on these products. Sorry for my lack of knowledge in this area.

Get the non-XT phobya ones. The XT ones are really hard and don't compress. Learnt that the hard way.

Thanks for the input mate, I got the non-XT ones a while back, looks like I made a good choice.
