Thermal pads for DRAM sticks

Hey guys, the thermal pads on one of my dram sticks has gone bad and now the heatsink is "clingin" on the dimm, what kind of thermal pad should I buy to replace the old ones?

I really couldn't say dude because they come in all sorts of sizes and most importantly thicknesses.

Do you have a set of digital verniers? I would get some of those (about £5) and find out the thickness first. I killed a GPU once by using pads that were too thick.

NP. What ram is it? you could always throw away the pads and just use thermal glue.

It's a 16GB kit of ADATA's XPGv2.

If you aren't stressing the hell out of it it'll be fine. I use cheap sticks with no heatsinks. Not a problem

I actually want to stress it like hell, those babies can do 2400Mhz
I've put the heatsinks in the drawer until I find a way to re-attach them, currenlty I'm running the dimms at 1333Mhz as the safest safe of saves

Didn't realize you were on ddr3..
In that case yes get a thermal pad. I'd just buy some standard ones you'd find on a GPU or something, doesn't need to be fancy

Would help if we knew which ram moduals you were using? Normally I'd say go with 0.5mm pads but depends on the heat spreaders.

As I wrote above It's an xpgv2 kit by adata. I measured the thickness with a ruler and I think it's 0.5mm I'm still waiting for my friend to find his verniers but i've ordered some 0.5mm pads already.

Yeah it's normally 0.5mm for dimms but worth checking.
