The first one does take a little while to get going. But, seeing as you've completed The Witcher 2, I don't see a point in going back to complete it.

Not really. In my opinion the second game does a great job in telling you all you need to know.

You could always check the wiki if you feel you don't understand specific areas of the mythos.

I'm actually considering playing The Witcher 3 with an xbox controller. It kind of seems like the game would work better with a controller.

If its anything like the 2nd game then the controls aren't bad with a keyboard. I never had trouble and even then you can always rebind the keys.

I played the first two with m + kb, but it would probably work better with a controller. It'd certainly be more comfortable.

I played Witcher 2 with keyboard + mouse as well, it was good, but i think a controller wouldn't have any downsides. The controls are already rather simple, aim isn't necessary, might as well be comfortable.

Yeah, the only thing you'd really need a mouse for in The Witcher 3 is the crossbow, although it would work just fine with a controller.
