I think I'd much rather have a lappy at that price and have a built-in screen, a processor 10x faster, 50x more RAM, an optical drive, a keyboard & mouse, I think u see where I'm going with this hehe

Maybe you're thinking of something similar wher a pc was installed into housing the size of a plug socket... Was on here some time ago...

On topic - its an interesting idea but not really sure what real life application they could have atm... Cool though

you can only do a limited number of things on it with that spec. Certainly a bloody good job they did though.

See - think about it this way.

A battery pack, a 3" screen, and a hacked 4GB USB stick - the ultimate portable PC! Intergrated into sunglasses it would rock

I heard about one similar to this on the radio the other day, the stats they ran off sounded better tbh.

From memory a 1.2ghz amd "rasc" or "racs" or summit w/256m..

Although by it`s physical description, it looks the same - I take it the side of the cube u can`t see plugs straight into the wall.

The cube goes in your pocket! Then you have what is known in the thread as a cable going to the screen hahaha

i can think of a gr8 use a lowpower + small controller comp for an automated home hook it to a control board run apache on it throw in some cgi scripts and bajingo control all teh junk in u house over el webz ....

but not at that price it can have a 99% power efficiency rating and id still say poo to it

they shd have added an xtra $7 to the price (hell its so small the postage is probs $7)

U.K. firm Jade Integration has unveiled a computer so small, it fits into a wall socket and is powered via Ethernet. The Jack PC, a rival to the smallest PC in the world, can hook up to a standard monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and runs Windows CE, the stripped-down version of Windows often used in portable devices. It comes with up to 64 MB of flash memory and 128 megs of RAM, so don't expect to play Half-Life 2 on it, but it should be able to handle basic Internet functions decently. There's no word on pricing yet, but the device gets its official release on June 15th at the IT Works Show in Newcastle.
