the right motherboard

I'm looking for a motherboard that runs DDR3 ram has SLi and runs well under air cooling. I may also overclock some parts of my computer such as the CPU (thinking of a Intel core 2 quad Q9450) but only by a small margin.

It also has to be able to fit the more powerful CPU's like the core 2 extreme qx9770, (when i can actually afford one:) ) and have a good upgrade potential so that a couple of years down the road i wont have to bin it and get a new board. I know that will happen eventually but i'd like some head room.

Price is not really an issue tho value for money is always good. I have had a look at the Asus maximus extreme ( yep know it's not SLi compatable) and the Asus striker II extreme but have seen mixed reviews on these and not sure if there a bit overkill for what i'm after. Bells and whistle's are great as long as they get used.

Basically i want a board that runs DDR3 and doesn't need water cooling, has SLi ( tho this is not top of my list) and can do some overclocking and if i was lucky enough to win the lottery the day after i bought it i could go out and buy the best CPU,GFX card etc and slap them on it no trouble and they would run like a dream.

My computer will be used for gaming if that makes any difference to the type of motherboard you would suggest.

thanks in advance.

I've always thought this about SLI:

Unless you are buying the best single graphics card, and that isnt enough for you, you need SLI.

If you're not buying the best card, stick with a single card, and upgrade it as and when...

financially SLI just doesnt make sense (imo), given the performance gains.

Isn't it only the 790i chipset that can do DDR3 and SLI? But i believe that the future intel cpu's will use a different socket, therefore you would have to upgrade mobo.
