I'm new to the site so i just thought I'd post what i got!

Phenom II x4 955 @4.5ghz on air (titan fenrir)

almost certain i can get higher with the chip but the motherboard is awful for oc'ing.

I've got a ASRock M3A770DE. Not a good oc'ing board like i said but it was decent for the price. (£45)

I've got a 955 Black and it utterly struggled to go any further than 3.8 ghz. Interesting.

I too have the 955. never really pushed it as i didn't like seeing an idle temp over 42c but managed to get 4.3 outta mine. under load it got quite hot though (52c) and i shit myself and retuned to 4.

its as ttl always says every chip is different

I managed to get my Phenom 965 x4 from 3.4 to 4.2ghz stably on air.

Using a CM Hyper 212+ with push pull Xigmatek LED fans on an ASUS M5A97.

Running on 1.5volts, and after 30mins of Prime, temps max at about 65 degrees C.

Think I got a bit lucky with my chip!

I'm a little wary of those temps and the budget board you're using with its 4+2 phase. Is that the core or cpu temp reading ?

Here is an update on mine since the mobo upgrade. With a better board, I'm sure your chip will OC similar to mine.

Btw, most rev. C3 Phenom II's will do 4ghz on or about 1.4v.

x6 @4.2ghz, 1.45v



x4 @4.343ghz, 1.45v



I wouldn't dream of trying this with my 790gx board.

It's an M5A97 Pro - sorry.

That is a rough average of the 4 core temps, with all 8 fans in my case maxed out

Didnt do too badly with Overclocking this 955. still got naff all points from HW bot. But the fact it weant to 4.4 so easily. Litrally took me 2 seconds. I might stick it in for a contender next time i order some more dice.

x6 - 3.7ghz 1.3v.



x4 - 4.0ghz 1.35v. Ya thats right. xD 1.35v.

That's quite an achievement, mine crashes when the core temps get up to somewhere near 64 degrees and right now with all the hot weather and room temps of 27 degrees C or more sometimes I've had to pull back and return everything to stock speeds, but when I get my new cooler on Tuesday (if the delivery is on time) then once it's all set up I'll start trying to overclock it again, I was getting 3913mhz on my old cooler (see sig) I think the new NZXT Havik will help me push much further.

lol, that was obviously a while ago.

I barely even stressed the rig out - didnt even properly game on it.

I've gone to intel now - and dont regret it in any way at all! Can get up to 4.6ghz so much easier, and cooler even
