I agree, the resolution needs to be upped in a big way before people embrace it, forcing your eyes to deal with a relatively low res image removes the sense of realism. It needs to be 8K at least, 2 parallel images (SBS) at 4k to seem more real. Obviously that is years off for now but that's what dreams are made of.

I took my Samsung S7 and Gear VR to the family Christmas Dinner, the older ones were more likely to try out the roller coaster demo and get right into it ( I say older ones but I'm 50 and they are 75ish). They were more into the sensation like you would if you went to a 3D planetarium but they got if from a simple Phone with a cinema screen.
