The new hottness in car audio :D

Spent all day yesterday wiring up my new head unit in my mack mobile and it all paid off in the end :D Very pleased with the new deck, definately top notch and I'm glad I made the purchase.

9 hours later and I finally got everything working right. You may be thinking to yourself... "9 hours just to install a new head unit????" Well the answer is yes. What you don't know is that my car is equipped with the factory JBL premium sound system. What this means is that the factory deck in the front isnt actually a complete deck, it's merely a control panel for the receiver which was so nicely placed in the trunk by FoMoCo... Bleh. What does this mean for anyone wanting to replace the factory head unit with an aftermarket one? It means ripping out all of the seats and carpet in your car to run a brand new set of wires from the trunk back to the dash to be able to wire up the new head unit. And after doing this it also bypasses the factory subwoofers in the back of the car which leaves u with no bass at all... Found a solution for that too! Ended up cutting the wires to the factory amp in the back and splicing them to a small 8 guage power wire and running it to an old 150w Alphasonik amp I had laying in the garage, laid down a set of RCA's and a remote wire from the front of the car while everything from the inside was torn out and managed to get it wired up to the factory subs in the back restoring the much needed bass.

Got the new satellite antenna neatly installed above the rear window (accidentally snapped the antenna cable from my old sat antenna when taking it off of my Bronco, talk about piss me off!). Everything works great, sounds great, and looks great too. Check it out!
