The new Corsair "Gaming" logo

I think it's a terrible design. Just the the msi dragon. I didn't like it at all. I much prefer the ship logo. It's classy. Not a freaking douchebag tattoo thing. But I suppose I could always out a sticker over it

Agreed! The Corsair sails are synonymous with quality hardware, this tramp stamp is just plain wrong... it's like replacing the Aston Martin or Bentley logos with a cute manga characters, it's just not right. This design must have gone through a design stage and focus group surely.

Yeah but they will have all been American, they know not of such subtleties. I still maintain they just added tribal to avoid it becoming a Sikh symbol.

PMSL! Just read a passage on facebook about it, "It's to appeal to the gaming generation" pi55 right off! Which gaming generation? Eh? 13 year old dota gamers I think.. I'm just off to look at investing in shares of Plasti-dip.

this will soun dumb but if the 900d had that logo i wouldnt have bought now its far from perfect but it ticks enough boxes to suit me. but if that logo had have been on i it would have cheapened i imo. and wraith about the aston and bentley it would be like having hod rod flames on the side of a caselabs super tower or those terrible machined aluminium fan covers on the front of a parvum.

thinking about it more the car analogy is great.

when i was a teen, when playing need for speed underground i would spend hours picking the colour then laying the decals and the manufacturer sticers so they were symmetrical. now when i play a car game i pick the silvia. add hp. then flipping drive the thing. i think maybe us older gamers are no longer the target market buddy.

the people who buy high end stuff really do care about the asthetics.
i know people who wont buy a GPU because the colour of the pcb is wrong, so it is kind of a big thing to some..
And if you do decide to get one then modify it because you dont want your keyboard to look like a "truck stop hooker" what hapens to the waranty?

Personally id tape over it with some black tape and call it a day, because i dont like the thing but im not that fussed about asthetics its more about what performance i can get out of it. so im not one to buy a led filled keyboard any way.

right now on this pc im using a old dell media center keyboard that has prety much the same media key functions as the corsair one. and has a twisty knob for the volume controll. so to me it works near enough the same. obviously it feels horrible to type with though because its not mechanicall.. but for the £3 i paid for it its fine..

but as i was saying. other people wouldnt even have this keyboard in the same house as their pc. so if they are that stead fast on having everything looking just so. a tramp stamp on an otherwise perfect keyboard for their needs is a bit of a kick in the face.

here is the keyboard i use.. for functionality it is about the same..
for feel its 100x worse.
asthetically other people would prefer no key board at all to this.. so if you can get one of these for £3 or pay tripple didgits for one that looks and feels nice. then you better hope that it looks how you want it when you buy it. its not like its a £15 keyboard.

I think that it's OK, but the old one is too.
The thing that I'm concerned with is the quality built-into my products. (and performance)
If they change that, then I'm going to have issue with it.
Keep making good looking, well thought out products and I'll always give Corsair a look before I buy.

Logo looks stupid but I would never buy their keyboard or mice anyway.

That's what I thought for a long time too,..............but I won the K90 from another website and I really like it. I would replace it if it broke and couldn't be fixed.

I genuinely think they missed out the "Research" step in their design process. Look at MSI's Gaming stuff. It's (pretty much) the same as their other parts, just with some subtle* changes. Same for the ROG motherboards, they're subtle* with branding. The colours of the Corsair Gaming logo stick out like a phallus in a church.

Then shape. We all know of the tramp-stamp analogy, but just look at some of the other gaming peripheral manufacturers. Steelseries' logo isn't outlandish. Neither is Logitech's G logo or Cooler Master's! Razer's logo does push out the boat, but it's in-fitting and doesn't look like a damn tramp-stamp.

Gamers want minimal, gamers want some damn class. Look at the peripherals all of these companies sell. Do they have bright out-of-place lines and tribal curves? No.

And as far as the LTT video goes, it's a god damn duck. Why would you NOT want that on your keyboard. Especially the Ducky Mini I'm after for college.

*Subtle colour. Red & Black is a fantastic, if safe, scheme. ROG's logo itself, especially the way it looks on their GPUs, isn't my favourite I have to say. It's still very nice, but it wouldn't be my first choice in a system.

Goto admit it looks very much like your typical tramp stamp .
But signing petitions to get it changed is the wrong angle of approach . I'm sure corsair did some marketing research with young ladies that frequent such parlours to be stamped and asked what said ladies thought of the design ( NOT) lol . But hey it's there new brand logo love it or hate it , does it really detract for the article you've paid good money on . Not really, if it offends you so much mod your own logo .

if your wife comes home with a tramp stamp on her back.. who cares.. just cross it out with permanent marker??

dunno i think it matters lol and covering it up would not be acceptable.
could even be talking seperation time for some.
