The FragTek DFI RAM Cooler

Hmm... would the Ultra-D version be able to accomodate a TT BT? Cause you know that thing is massive.

Well when prototypes arrive and installed we can see clearly how it looks and how much space it takes.

Yup still waiting to get proto's back so I can cover all of those bases. I know for certain the Expert model won't work for nearly any aircooling... Just a wierd setup I had to work with, the Ultra-D style bracket should be able to accomodate a few different types of cooling :)

That;s tight man. Can't wait to see the beastly thing. BTW, ETA on the Ultra-D proto?

Late this week or early next week mefinks :)

The pix are in!!! She's a beaut and only a few moderate changes need to be made for the production model... Unfortunately that does put back the release date a few weeks but this thing has to be PERFECT before I'm going to mass produce it.

Let's start with the pix and then I'll start with the pro's and con's.

Lookin' good aint she? Mmmmm, I love it! Ok now on to what's great and what needs to be changed.

First and foremost, every single hole and dimension is perfect, everything is lined up just where I had planned it! The mounting holes are in the dead on perfect spots, and the fans are placed where I had measured. The only bad news I have is that for some reason the 50mm fan mounting holes are a bit too close together... I think I may have put them 5mm to close together on each edge, this was just a mistake on my part :( I'll try and get that straightened out tonight or sometime this week so I can get another prototype made. This means that the proto I ordered for the Ultra-D model will also be wrong for the 50mm fans. But, that looks to be the only small flaw. I'm going to try and make it a bit more eye pleasing with a few more cuts and get that fan mounting hole problem taken care of ASAP.

Give me your feedback and tell me what you think!!!

Great pictures buddy , and i must say i am impressed big time. I see the error you made with the 50mm fan section but i think its a minor issue. Just looking at the last picture does the fans or airflow i must say cover the left side of the first dimm slot near to c.p.u socket. Reason i ask looking at the picture it looks like airflow hits the dimm 1cm to the right and due to most people having exhaust fans on the right side air would be pulled to the right leaving the first dimm in open. Could be a minor issue tough. Also this depends on users aim i guess , if the aim is to overclock the memorys further then achieved ( or make them more stable ) or just to keep them cooler .as we dont know whether your setup will effect the o/c of memory speeds. But overall i am pleased with the outcome and if i was DFI i would of contacted you already :) Waiting for the tests if you gonna run them ...

I am sure people using VX memorys or any memorys above 3v would be interested in these. :D

Im still debating moving the ram fans over that extra couple of milimeters but it's just leaving so little space between the left and right side that it scares me a bit as far as fitment goes, i currently dont know what if any heatsinks will fit with this setup.

I understand what you are saying. Experiement makes it perfect i guess. Will you be doing any tests on these :D

While looking at the pictures had few crazy mods.

First idea i thought make the fan holders seperate unit so the stand will come in flavours of SLI-DR & Expert or maybe other motherboards in future. Then just screw the fan holder to main stand.

Second idea sliding fan holders ( where 50mm fans are ) so people who use yellow slots, slide the fans to cover yellow slots , or if orange slots slide them back into cover orange slots.

All the best :)

Those are some great ideas Tec, I'll definately take them in to consideration.

I just got the v4 done and I'll be submitting it for prototype soon enough! :D

He's in US and I'm sure members will be given first dibs if you want them. He works in a UPS shop (the manager) and take it from me shipping would be quick and very awesome :)

Dedication is the name of the game, if you wanna be the best, and beat the rest, dedication is what you need.

You sure do have it, just get it patented before someone nicks the idea.
