The Algae invades

When opening my block today to clean i am greeted by a very yucky pond smelling smell and it could only be green algae.

Pure distilled water with kill coils with none of that sealing type stuff.

algae needs one important thing to thrive = light

clear tubing and UV lighting looks fab, but will create a little algae farm - lol

looks vs speed = very rare (unless you like looking after your rig as much as changing diapers)

There's nothing to kill the algae before it happens? [looks in cooling loop for tadpoles

] Maybe a drop or two of bleach?

I'm using Feser One [clear] cooling fluid, in clear tubing. Will I also have an eventual algae problem?

The culprit, well its a combination of to much light and the kill coils not ionizing the water to a active concentrated level.

Pre coolant comes with additives to stop that but if the fluid you have is just distilled then overtime yes.

No I won't find the tadpoles?

or, No, I won't have the algae troubles?

I know what you mean

Well you could add a small cat fish in for added security.

use to have two and they kept the glass clean all day long munching and munching until some how they both went walkies.
