Testing Ram For Errors

Basically i have 8 gb of ram over 4 ddr3 slots on my sandybridge setup, so 2gb in each slot, it is mushkin redline 6-8-6-24 1600mhz ram which i did overclock to 2133 but for sum reason started bluescreening even though i ran memtest86+ and also prime 95 blend for 12 hours with no errors, so i backed of the overclock to 1866mhz but after a few days got blue screening again 15 times in a row when i swiched on my computer, everytime i rebooted another BSOD appeared, so again i backed of the overclock and left it at its rated speed and it booted into widows.

my cpu is overclocked to 4.7ghz, im not sure if that would efect the ram seen as the base clock is unchanged it just the multiplier is set to 47.

i have a feeling there is a faulty ram in there somewhere and i need help finding out.

any ideas on what tests i should uses, should i run the tests with all 4 dimms or should i do them individually? if i do test them individually do they HAVE to be in dimm slot 1 (nearest to cpu) or can they be in any because if it has to be in 1 that would mean i would have to remove the noctua nh-d14 4 times in order to test all the 4 ram dims individually :/

any help guys would be apprciated

ps. does programs like tune up utillities help remove BSOD's

i have had the following error numbers on my most recent BSOD's :

0x00000050

0x0000007e

0x0000003b

HEEELLLP!!!!

oh yh is there any difference between memtest86+ and memtest86 ? ive been using the + version.....

if i run memtest for a few hours with all 4 dims and no error occurs would that mean my ram isnt faulty?

Thanks

Now I can't help you much but I'll share what I know

The memtest86+ version is a mod of the original version, they created the + version because the original didn't support AMD64 processors.

it is now constantly being updated to support the latest processors.

I would definatly try single sticks, if there is a faulty stick you will probably locate it sooner. If for instance your system won't boot.

I'm not sure if you can skip the first slot on the motherboard (have you checked the manual?)

Error 0x0000003b is sometimes connected to failing graphics drivers (or at least according to google

it's not much but I hope it helps..

Hi,

Contact Mushkin Support.

I've been communicating recently with Mushkin Support and helped properly.

Before stress testing contact Mushkin.

I was reccomended a stability tester called OCCT: http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/index.php?Download

I used this OCCT config for the test:

CPU: OCCT

Test Type: Custom

Custom Test Duration: 1 hour

Test Mode: Large Data Set

Priority: Normal

My system is i5 750

These are my DRAM settings @ 1800Mhz:

DRAM Frequency: 1800MHz

DRAM Timing Control>

DRAM CAS# Latency: 7

DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay: 9

DRAM RAS# PRE Time: 7

DRAM RAS# ACT Time: 24

DRAM Read to Pre Time: 8

DRAM Timing Mode: 1N
