Hi All,

Been a while since I have been on the forum. But I am feeling a new build coming on. I am thinking High end games machine, with some headroom for future growth. Just thought I would share :yumyum:

I am thinking Parts List so Far:-
NZXT 440 Case (2015 Red edition)
6700k
MSI Z170A Gaming M7
DDR 4 G.Skill V 3000mhz could be 16gb could be 32gb (whichever fills out the bays nicest)
M.2 256gb Samsung SM951 NVME PICE GEN3 for the OS
2TB internal HD
x3 Force GT SSD
PSU Corsair HX1000i
MSI GTX980 (in current rig)
Corsiar H110i GTX cpu cooler
x3 Noctua NF-A14 IndustrialPPC 2000 pwm for Rear exhaust and CPU COOLER
x3 Noctua NF-F12 IndustrialPPC 2000 pwm for intake

that might be it for now,

Cheers all

To be honest, i doubt you would notice the performance increase, some things might go a tad bit faster here and there but i think your 2011 setup is still plenty.

People are having a hard time to upgrade, purely for gaming a 2500k is still great, yeah it might lack some features like usb3.0 pci-e 3.0 and sata 3 but otherwise they still hold their own in today's games.

You might throw in a 1TB SSD to put your games on. I would think about a second 980 if you first one over clocks well. What are you using for a monitor. Money might be better spent there with the left over.

Hi Dicehunter, I have now started ordering a few skylake bits, I fancy a second machine as a backup, or maybe this skylake build for my racing rig. My 2011 needs a bit of clean format and refresh and keep it for work. And yes 2 980 Ti's would be perfect for my new build.

@KONG I have x3 Acer Predator XB270HA 27" 1920x1080 TN G-Sync 144Hz Gaming Widescreen LED
