Silentsnake you was right, I missed the lovelyness of Vista. So I found a fix to my dodgy vista driver and now i'm back in business on Vista

As you all may well know I plan to stick with XP until the next Windows as I view Vista as a marketing ploy with very little gains for me.

I completely agree. I use XP because I have to (app support and games etc.), otherwise I use Ubuntu.

i reckon the next big update would of sorted most of that out, same issue with xp when it first came out i think microsoft rush their releases, they should of worked on it till it was perfect rather then rush its release then being voted the number 1 worst thing released last yearand the year before that lol

So they`re about to bring out some more patches/update for XP/2000/2003.. we reckon they`re ok for release now ?

Only 8 years worth of patchage.

No you've taken what i said and twisted it lol,

their will always be more patches for compatibility as newer software/hardware are released but what i mean is that

they should of gone to ea,ubisoft,creative,nvidia etc etc and had a look at how their software is structured so that miocrosoft can create amazing compatibility on all of their software not just released it with no compatibility what so ever, and hope for the best and all the manufactorers out their to releases patches ASAP

MS did give all the major players a shout in on Vista and they gave them plenty of opporunity to develop drivers for it. Hell I had Vista for about a year prior to release. If only I could code
