Temp to high

I noticed my cpu's temp is too high in BIOS. Is this normal? But when I monitored in Asus Probe it looks that the temp is in nominal value. Is there any problem with my mother board or my cpu?

It's not uncommon for motherboards to incorrectly display temps in the BIOS. This is especially common if the motherboard was manufactured before the release of the CPU and later updated.

Can you explain it briefly? I don't get your reply.

What processor do you have?

His motherboard is a bit old.

Chances are that his motherboard BIOS is corrupt or something. :X

Or...

He read the motherboard temperature as Fahrenheit and Asus Probe read it as Celsius.

Nope my board is not obsolete. It's P5GC-MX/1333. And I was not born yesterday, I know what's Celsius or Fahrenheit temperature. My Processor is Pentium 4 640* (3.20Ghz.).

No offence mate. :p

Maybe it's just a damaged motherboard. :X

those cpu's are notoriously hot anyways. Try to reseat the heatsink with fresh tim, if its over volted lower that.

If all else fails post back

What's fresh tim? Will you explain it briefly? And how do I adjust the volt going to my heatsink/fan?
