Hey guys as soom of you may have seen I just recently got a new motherboard and cpu. I now have an ASRock x79 Extreme 11 and it has duel LAN ports and they do support teaming. I have tried a few times to set it up myself and have been consistenly unsuccessful :( any one know how to set this up or have any advice? Thanks to all who respond :)

What switch are you using? Your switch has to support teaming for this to work. You then log into your switch and specify two ports in the "team". Most switches refer to it as link aggregation.

I do have all the drivers and the Broadcom software. I try and configure it in the software and even after full restart windows will read that I have internet connection but when i try and use chrome or any thing that requires internet it does not work.

If you don't have a switch that supports link aggregation you are out of luck. And even if it does, what are you hoping to gain? Don't waste your time.

Thanks for the advice, after further research i found that i need a new switch :/

Make sure it supports "802.3ad" or "LACP" or "Link Aggregation" or "Trunking" (When referring to Layer 2 settings, not VLAN). They are pretty synonymous. I actually just purchased a D-Link DGS-1100-8 8 Port gigabit managed switch which supports trunking  $64 on Amazon.
