Hi Guys,

I've kept this quiet until now, but it's been confirmed. Myself and Eddy (PCTwin) will be representing not only OC3D, but the UK at this years MOA 2011 in Turkey next month. Like Gigabyte's GOOC Champs, MSI have their own MOA (Masters of Overclocking Arena) which i feel is the better of the two.

This is a great oppertunity to get the OC3D HWBot Bench Team name out there.

Couple details below about it including the dates:

Event Duration: Apr. 14-17

n Apr. 14 - OCer arrival

n Apr. 15 - Battle: 2 Benchmarks

n Apr. 16 - Battle: 1 Benchmark; Panel Discussion

n Apr. 17 - Departure

OC Gear: Marshal (B3 Version) + N580 GTX Lightning.

As an idea of what the day will be like, check out Hardware Canucks coverage of the America's Finals MOA 2011 back in January this year here - http://www.hardwarec...-las-vegas.html

The benchmarks haven't been confirmed as yet. However, 3DMark 11 no doubt will be one.

MSI will be providing the OC Gear this month to play and prep before the Finals, so we'll get some photos and benchmarks up within the next 2-3 weeks.

The event will be broadcast live on the web so make sure you guys show us some support!!

Outstanding news, Team OC3D is going to be very well represented.

Be sure and take atleast a half-empty suitcase for all the free bumpf !

Great stuff.

like the vegas one shows its an ic lottery but we all know your going to push the chips as hard as they can be.

can you volt mod the cards they send you or do you all have to work with soft mods?

Not sure buddy. Waiting on the official rules to come through.

By the looks of it, the guys in America did. The idea is we get to prep the hardware they give us, get used to it, and then we take it with us prepared. There are spares on the day in case something goes wrong.

As you said it is a chip lottery at the end of the day, but more so with Sandy Bridge. We'll be all on LN2 but we all know you can get to the speeds of LN2 on air or water with a decent chip. So there's going to be guys capped at 5.4-5.5, and others happy at 5.8. Its going to be a very very close finals with Sandy Bridge. That's why I reckon the winner will be the team who gets the fastest clocks from their GTX 580 and thus a better score in 3DMark 11.

However, unlike the America's, we have 3 benchmarks spread over 2 days. If say 3DMark 11 & SPI 32M are two, I wonder what the third will be. Very intrigued. I don't think it will be any more 3D. So I'm hoping for some SPI 1M or my favourite PI Fast. If wPrime 1024M pops up I'm going to cry! Bloody hate it.
