freedom of use, but the idea of making tablets and PCs one entity is just horrible.
and servers.

Tiles in server 2012. *sigh* That, for me is the worst. Especially considering how some features in 2012 are excellent and a real step forward. It kind of sums up windows 8/the whole metro issue. Great improvements, especially in hardware usage but the whole attempt to make metro the new UI of windows put a bad name on it. People want windows, not some hybrid windows/tablet. The whole hybrid thing only really works with laptops with touchscreens, especially with something like my laptop, which is (shock horror) a hybrid laptop/tablet.

I have been switching between Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 occasionally just for benching runs etc, but mainly I use Windows 8.

As soon as I was able to get Windows 8 to boot directly to the desktop without any of the 3rd party programs, such as Start Is Back I just simply stuck with it and learnt how to do the stuff on it that I did on Windows 7.

Although sometimes it is abit annoying having to use the start screen, it is only when I do a fresh install of Windows that I have to use it, just to then create a shortcut on the desktop.

I will be sticking to Windows 8.1 as I really am not bothered about the Start Menu anymore, and Windows 8.1 does seem to perform better than Windows 7.
