Swiftech water kit - noisy pump and need advice please.

Shadow of chaos

I noticed the review of the Swiftech edge 320 kit and i have what is essentially the same kit, it's an older model called the 320 Drive which i bought just over a year ago. I got it because of simplicity, and thought it would be quiet.. but as the review states, it is noisy. I get vibrations and whine from the pump, is there any way to quieten it or would it be best to get rid of it and change it for something else later on?

I had so much trouble with it, the holes for screws in the radiator were almost all thread bare and i had to give it to my father because he had a taps and dyes kit, he thought the rad was cheaply made.

Then it didn't end there, i bought some hose clamps and a psu jumper on specialtech and the jubilee clamps were too big for the barbs. I was promised replacements and never heard off them again, it's not so much the cost but more the principle.. though i had to pay a tenner just for those along with shipping. Pretty annoying as i must have spent over £300 on everything in total from a few different places.

That and it seems i get fairly high temps for what it is, maybe i should go with something like the new Corsair h100 that's coming out? or something else again.. it's been a big cost & hassle for what i get from it. and my case is a mess of wires

advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.

Nothing you can do mate. - Sell it.

I was hoping for more replies, but i suppose i should. I do have an Apogee XT block which i could keep. I really am not sure what to do though, i know it would be a ton simpler to buy a new sealed unit like the Corsair H100 but would it even be good enough and quieter?. I mean the reason i went with this is because it only has 2 tubes for a simple cpu loop and don't have to worry about space etc.. obviously a full kit would occupy a bit of space in the case, something i think i might struggle with in my Antec 1200.

Besides, i don't know if sealed units would ever match a custom loop.

By the way, has anyone else here had any problems with specialtech?.
