Super quick memory decision...

I'm buying some ram, and was wondering what i should get. It needs to pretty much 100% certain to run at 300mhz with reasonable timings.

Should i get:

OCZ DDR600 PC4800 EL (Enhanced Latency) CL 2.5-4-4-10 Platinum Edition -£194

Timings could probably go a bit lower with some extra voltage?

OCZ DDR625 PC5000 EL (Enhanced Latency) DFI nF4 Special CL 3-4-4-10 Platinum Edition -£209

Allows for a bit of extra headroom over the 300mhz, or running lower than spec'd mhz may allow for tighter timings

OCZ DDR400 PC3200 EL (Enhanced Latency) CL 2-2-2-5 1T Platinum Edition Rev2 - £139

Not guaranteed to get to 300mhz (most reviews seem to say around the 280 mark), but its cheap!

well you know that tccd can do it, but you could be brave and try out the tcc5. also you may want to know that the guys at xtreme systems think that OCZ and DFI are having a slight conflict problem and not getting along too well. maybe recommend some of the newer mushkin or some gskill LE.

but if you definately want to go ocz then i say the tcc5 and try to tighten those timings a bit with some voltage.

Yep I agree with Dave....get the OCZ Rev 2 (you may be lucky and get TCCD)

Get Gskills....their TCCD is guareteed to rock :worship:

The thing is that i want 100% guaranteed DDR600 speeds. Do you really think that Rev 2 can do that for certainty?

The PC4800 OCZ is still TCCD, but the PC5000 is TCC5 (but hey, it cant be too bad if it scales to DDR625)

Hmmmm.....from what I've heard said - TCCD is some of the best around...and TCC5 is a bit of an unknown...I would get the 4800 - it'll go over its rated shit!!

Get it now:

Hmm, yea, i think i might go for the PC4800 then. As i said i don't fancy taking the risk on the Rev2 after reading these 2 reviews that couldn't get it past 275mhz

I've seen reviews slating it but Rev 2 is rated at 2--MHz and I expect it to get to 280MHz (I'll be very happy if I get 10x 280!!) so I think the 4800 is the best choice for ya!! :D
