Summer Sale 2014

Bought ARMA 3, no idea what i am doing, all i know is that in multiplayer my framerate is terrible.
Arma 3 has had server issues since release. Partly the devs fault (they can't work on client and server optimisations obviously, last time I checked it couldn't use more than three cores ) and partly because people choose to run their servers on Potatoes/poorly specced virtual servers. You pretty much need an entire machine for a 64 or even 32 person server imo. If you get a friend to host a game for a small bunch of people its fine unless their setup is really below par. Bigger servers really are awful though. The servers that run the converted arma 2 maps tend to be smoother.

Teach me how to arma.

Just got nidhogg. Some good multiplayer fun there :), also costs as much as i have made selling the summer trading cards :).

Does anyone else find it suspicious that every Team has won once and that mostly by a big margin? That smells rigged to me. Possibly to keep everyone motivated to collect/trade/buy cards ;)

Step 1. Use a high power Intel based system

False.
Its actually pretty equal with CPUs nowadays :D. the 9590= 4770k, 83xx= i5.

Its because the team that came last were given a huge influx of users.

I see you have an FX-4100. I used to have one of those and it brought me a solid 15-20fps in ArmA2

Yes please, the 20 euros i paid shouldn't be wasted like they usually are.

Yeah I hit around 17 - 25fps in ArmA 2, until the S#!t hits the fan and it drops to around 10.

Good point I have noticed a slight increase in fps since the 14.4 Drivers but not by much, but just noticed your referring to ArmA 3 which is better configured compared to ArmA 2

Just picked up the game of the year edition of Dishonored with the latest round of discounts.

Brings my complete list to:

Driver: San Francisco
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Don't Starve
Psychonauts
Deus Ex (The Original)
Grey Matter
Far Cry 3
Contrast
The Stanley Parable
Papers, Please
Dishonored

I'm not sure if there's anything else I want as this backlog of mine is getting ridiculous now. But knowing from previous Steam sales, there's often a huge amount of games at ridiculous discounts at the very end of the sale.

Just finished Brothers: A tale of Two sons.

Wow that game is amazing! The story is so well told and the artstyle is fantastic and the gameplay is great.

Was thinking about pre-ordering Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Inquistion. Witcher 3 because i get a additional discount since i won the first two and Inquisition because it looks good and uses Mantle so worth a try i suppose.

Been playing Papers, Please. It's an amazing game, unlike anything I've ever played before. Despite the 2D pixelated graphics it's a lot of fun.

Sadly my family keeps dying in it though. I wanted to help the resistance movement overthrow the corrupt government, but I never got that far as a result. :(
