Thermalright Ultra Extreme matey thats what you should get

i cant belive no ones suggested the megatron (megahalem) or an ocz vendetta .

Ocz vendetta is very cheap.

the vendetta beats the True! when the fan is at a low output, http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.p...ask=view&id=156&Itemid=1&limit=1&limitstart=7

and when its at a hight output it still beats it!http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.p...ask=view&id=156&Itemid=1&limit=1&limitstart=8

Btw it only beats the TRUE when the motherbaord is at a vertical position.

also just noticed that it has to be from special tech, the megatron isn't being sold there. But the vendetta is for £22.

Yh it is a good cooler, but the TRUE beats it after being lapped; out-of-the box performance is pretty useless i know due to the rough surface....

Personally can recommend Noctua NP. Used it for past months and it's been GREAT. 10/10 for cooling. Load when I have good circulation @ 3.4Ghz is 50-60c, considering @ 2.4 I was reaching 60c idle lol.

Surely if you have an ifx-14 already (which doesn't seem a bad cooler) you'd be better off getting some decent noctua fans, getting hold of the best thermal paste and maybe lapping the heatsink?

People need to be careful about HDT heatsinks though.. the method of thermal paste application is completely dif from the normal way....

Have a look at this page for more info:

If silence is important, the fenrir might not be for you, it's a little louder than you might want, though can't deny the cooling ability.

The noctua offering is great value for the performance you get imo.

I dont mind load coolers, as long as its not random bursts of noise, constant you can adjust to or play music :)

i have been lookin and the ocz vendetta 2 looked quite good when i was googlin it till i noticed that (correct me if i'm wrong) it has pushpins!

anybody successfully modded it with a bolt thru?

will it be pretty easy to get some nut and bolts through it?

Most good cpu cooles have push pins... you just aswell getting a really good push pin and having to install it just the once, might be fiddly but once its on, thats it.. 10 degrees coooler for pushing down some pins>?????
