Stuck. 8350 or 4670k?

Hi. So I currently have an Asrock 970 pro 3 r2.0 equipped with an FX6300.
I have a gtx 770 which i'm adamant is being bottle-necked by it in games like ESO and Metro:LL.

My question. Is it worth buying a new MB and going for the 4670k?
Or is it worth only having to buy the 8350 and be done with it?
I know this is a preference issue as well as monetary but i'm in need of a second opinion. I have no monetary restrictions. I also use the rig for 90% gaming 5% Editing videos of the games and %5 homework.

I'm not sure if it's relevant but here are my current specs.
MB- Asrock 970 pro 3 r2.0
CPU- FX6300 @ stock. W/ H80i.
RAM- 8gb single dimm patriot 1600mhz.
GPU- MSI GTX 770 2gb.
Storage - 128 gb samsung EVO 840. W/ 1tb sea gate 7200rpm drive.
PSU- Antec High Current Gamer 750w M.
Several case fans from corsair aswell.

I appreciate the time taken to view this post and would love an opinion to help guide me.

8350. Even though with AMD it's a gamble if the game runs properly (i make it sound worse than it is), paying double the money isn't a very good idea. The 8350 will serve you well.

i would say get a better motherboard and another stick of ram, and over clock that cpu a bit. cant see it bottlenecking a 770, as i have a 780 and an 8350 an its not bottle necking my gpu

Well, I could be wrong.
My gpu usage is around 46% in ESO and jumping from 100 to 60 in Metro:LL.
I'd rather not spend money to be able to OC something I currently have than just buy something better that could potentially last longer.
On a side note, from recently posting here on OC3D, forum users helped me decide it could be my current motherboard or it could be a bad fx 6300 but even overclock to 3.7gh/z is unstable no matter what I try.

Would you recommend an 8350? In terms of longevity, single core and multicore performance as well as future OC'ing potential?

8350 is much faster than the 6300 and is worth the money to upgrade. However its more of a hit and miss investment. Some games might come out with one of the newer APIs which would make the CPU a solid investment but the intel route will only perform better before hand and maintain the same performance afterwards.

Normally Id say get a 8350 and overclock its nads off and youd have a nice, very capable gaming processor. Problem is your motherboard isnt the best for overclocking something as power hungry as a 8350. The first thing you should try is overclocking that 6300 and see how that works out for you. Those things can usually overclock very well, up in the high 4's should be no problem. You have a pretty solid cooler so while your motherboard is a little weak you should still be able to get 4.4-4.5 out of that 6300. Try that first and see what kind of gains you get.
