Struggling to overclock with R3E

I'm struggling to overclock with my R3E (i7 950 & Corsair 6GB 2000Mhz)

The best I can manage so far is the CPU @ 4GHz and the memory @ 1603Mhz, I'm not that bothered about the CPU, I'm happy with it at 4GHz but would like to see the memory hit 2000Mhz. But as soon as I try and tweek the settings further I get a bad BIOS checksum.

try and lower your cpu voltagr if you can, I would not have a clue on the ram maybe set it to 2005 mhz and then raise the voltages that are related to the ram? ive got to learn how to get 2000mhz aswell

have the rig priming atm for a 4.4ghz clock been going for about 3 hours now and set your T balance to X balance power. proberly another reason Im assuming the ram wont go stable and set the qpi to 1.4

and manually set ram timings. ram needs to be 1.66 and qpi 1.5 to 1.55v

do that and it will work.

I turned C1E off, set the Ram timings manually (8-9-8-24-1) put the DRAM Bus Voltage to 1.66 and put the QPI/DRAM Core Voltage to 1.5 but as soon as the PC reaches the Windows splash screen the screen goes blank and the computer hangs, upon resetting all the BIOS settings are back to default.

I then tried exactly the same but with the QPI/DRAM Core Voltage @ 1.55 but at the same point I get a BSOD.

It also begs the question should I be setting the memory voltage to 1.66 when I get a warning about setting it over 1.65? (Setting it to 1.66 seems to actually set 1.6690)

1.66 is fine.

It could be your CPU is a bit poo tbh you would be better off going up in stages.

You can try upping the cpu pll to 1.88 and upping the IOH volts to about 1.3.

End of the day dude overclocking is about leaning your system not a whack it in bios and it works job

(at least not untill you know what everything does)

Sounds very similiar to my issue with the r3e, so hard to find stability, looking around and it seems common, mabye its just the doms? hopefully a bios upgrade can cure it? what version do u have? i got to 1.65 qpi and 1.73dram and 1.28ioh before i could even get to windows and any stress on system would freeze or bsod
