Hallo dear people of the forum.

I will like to hear you on something, have been ask to stream my game play in Diablo 3 "Blizzard game" and have been thinking of that in some time my self.

But know the fun starts, have read alot on this part. But something that i will like to hear on is. What do you need as horsepower as Motherboard and CPU ? Right now my rig only have a i5-4670K and some place i see that you need i7 to get the best out to the people that is seeing you, is this right ?..

I was also thinking of getting the 2011 v3 socket, but then that will only be whit a 5820K in it to start whit.

What do you think dear people ?

Kind Regards,

Etlar

Totally depends on the video resolution and fps you're broadcasting at.

A 4670k would do 720p at 60fps or 1080p 30-40fps rather easily, especially when overclocked. I'd advise an i7 for 1080p 60fps streaming, but honestly I'd start with 1080p 30 fps as you wont get quality settings on your channel until you become a popular streamer, people wont be able to select low/medium/high/source so you have to make it so people can watch without issue. Remember not everyone has 100/10 fibre :)

From my personal experience with streaming on a 3570k, I'd recommend 1080p 30 fps with a Very fast or medium encoding profile with a solid 2000kbps - 3000kbps bitrate.

At the end of the day it all comes down to testing, try to keep your CPU away from 70% or higher usage whilst streaming and gaming at the same time to avoid stutters, have a play around with the software.

ive been streaming for a couple of years now. an i7 id deffo preferable if you want to do streaming but a i5 4670k is no slouch and i wouldnt say you cant stream with it (i streamed on an i7 920!).
Diablo III isnt the most demanding game on the CPU nor GPU so that will leave you with plenty of cpu horsepower left for the streaming software (be it OBS or Xplit)
so dont throw out your i5 just yet, yes a 2011 socket will be even better, but for us "nobody Streamers" thats will be over kill as we are limited ot the amount of bandwidth Twitch gives us, so there is no point in having a beast rending rig if you cant use more than 3Mb which will only give you 720p @60fps/1080 @30fps as rule of thumb (they say unpartneted we can go to 3500kbs, but my viewers get lag issues)

so as said above it's trial and area try 3000kbs bitrate at 720p @60fps and see how you go from there, and yes keep and eye on your rersouce usage
