Straightening/uncurling (?) wires and cables that have "memorised" a position

Hey

My headphone cables and a few others have really bad memory effect positioning. Say, I wrap my headphones around my player - they are now really curly and make it a bit harder to use.

Basically I'm after a way of reversing the process so they are nice and straight and new

ideas?

Fix something heavyish on the end and hang them up on something overnight. I have done this and it works a treat.

start wrapping them around the other way
