Steelseries Siberia v2 mic problems

Im using a new Sibera v2 headset, on an imac, in bootcamp, on windows 7, the sound is great, but the mic doesn't work, it recognizes me plugging in a device but doesn't pick up any audio, i should mention that i am NOT using the USB soundcard that steelseries sell... can anyone help me with this? has anyone had the same problem? any response would be appreciated, thanks

Maybe obvious but make sure the mic isn't muted, with the slider on the cable, I know its easily done.

i bought one today, just tried it and my mic doesnt work eighter :s

edit: seems to work on my pc now, not sure about xbox

Not to be a dick or anything but Steelseries stuff is crap! their keyboards are OKAY but everything else they make is cheap Chinese garbage.
