AAA games cost from anywhere between $10-18million + so honestly more the merrier. In the end it just gives them a bigger paycheck and motivate the audience to keep contributing and they can keep supporting the game.

I'd imagine so, they talked about how they wanted to make the game use the full power of pcs and if the hanger module is anything to go by, they've done quite a good job at that so far.

Something like that over an even longer period of time.It's a shame there isn't a PC release for it yet so we can see what that kind of money can do for textures...

WHO'S READY FOR DOGFIGHT MODE? It'll be cool to see how the ships fly, how punishing it is for PCs and just how bad I am at flying :l. At the moment my ships aren't really any good for dogfighting (I currently own the starting ship and an origin 315p explorer) so I might get something more dogfighty for it.

I believe this package is the cheapest way to get into the alpha, its actually quite a decent price in my opinion.
If dogfighting impresses me enough, I'm planning on going three monitors/a superlarge monitor (obvs with a graphical update) I've decided. Does anyone else feel this way?
i think it's 30$ for the final game and 40$ for the final game + alpha and beta. there are only about 3k alpha slots left though. was 4.4k 2 days ago.

i upgraded my aurora to the legionnaire version just for that purpose
my 315p isnt really made for it but ill more than get something abit more fighty...

when your ship blows up you will loose it if you don't have an insurance. there are different insurance levels, the lowest will only give you the stock ship while more expensive ones also cover upgrades, the lowest insurance level is supposed to be very cheap. and if you do loose your ship you can buy a new one with in game money or do missions on other people's ships or NPC missions.
No worries, the reason ships are currently so expensive is that it is a pledge, you buy the ships with the support of the developer in mind and the ship they give you to show their appreciation, everything will be available in game at a reasonable price.
Define reasonable price? This sounds like a real money pit for me to take interest inbearing in mind Eve is bad enough...
no real money, in game money. at the moment the only reason there is a real money shop is that they want to give something in return instead of just taking donations.
that thing is so god damn sexy, but i guess i will wait till beta when i can buy it in game.
on topic, there are only about 1600 slots left and they decrease by 500-1000 a day so if anyone is interested in the game, hurry up. even though they said they would increase the alpha slots when they hit 25kk$, but for some reason they haven't yet.
