Standart Shinobi, or is it?

Hi Folks,

the idea was to keep the case, a normal Bitfenix Shinobi, looking like it was a usual Shinobi but give it some punch. A wolf in sheep´s clothing.

Except for the Fan Controller it looks completly stock and no woman would guess what a nerd owns this rig

Inside the story is a little bit different.

To get everything inside I had to use 25mm slim Radiators except for the front Intake. Because I found a used HDD cooler for 15€ at eBay I decided I need one. Because the Shinobi has only 3 optical Bays I just cut out the bottom and threw the HDD Bays away. That way I had enough room for the two Radiators in the Bottom of the case. The reservoir fits nice next to the Graphics card and the soundcard. Only getting the cards out is a little bit tricky

The biggest challange of course was the top 2x120mm radiator. The Radiator itself fits nice but theres no more room left for the Fans. So I bolted two 12mm Fans on top of the case.

To keep the original look I carefully Drehmeled the strenghening Bars out of the Top. I expected the Top to get wibely wobely but not a hinch. The difference in terms of twisting the Part is minimal.

Unfortunatly these 12mm Fans are loud as Hell. Seriously when my PC starts up the Fan Controller puts everything at 100% for 8sec. A starting 747 is silent compared to this. This is why the Top Fans are always running at the minimal 900rpm. To Increase the airflow I put a additional 140mm Fan with cableties beneath the Radiator. Works better than I expected.

I´m very pleased with the result. Temps are always below 35°C and the noise is fine although this little case became really a fatboy. It weighs about 21 Kg now (46,3 lbs).

I really had a lot fun building this rig whitch is my first watercooled rig.
