SSD Life

No I know that, but since all SSDs are still new - I dont recall reading anyones forums online saying my SSD has reached the end of it's life.

Even the very first SSDs that were made didnt really know how long they were going to last, and in my opinion they were complete guesses. As I dont think anyone under standard use has reached the end of the tunnel yet with their SSD, I believe we are still completely in a guess stage, even with the current ones being produced.

Until about 5/10 years more, I dont think anyone can have any accurate measurement of SSD life as not enough have failed to give them any information.

Very interesting. I'd give the resistors inside the ssds 5 years, if only used an average 10 hours a day.

... like we think we'll be using the same 60/120g ssds in over 5 years time ... probably won't be using sata even, psata will be the latest thing

I guess we will all have to wait 8 years to find out if this is legitimate or not assuming the drives last that long, if they die before 8years and it isn't due to user failure then well...yeah
